Unfortunately when it comes to tarot cards they are often misunderstood. Tarot cards often get a negative review from those who do not understand them. Fortunately these negative reviews of the tarot cards have nothing to do with what good they can actually do. Here are 5 myths about tarot cards that can easily be debunked:
Myth #1 – Tarot Cards Are Evil
Tarot cards are often associated as being evil and Anti Christian. People that often feel the tarot cards are associated with these negative qualities believe that the cards work by using forces of evil. With this myth there is a small amount of truth that has been completely twisted. During the middle ages the Christian church decided that Paganism was demonic and evil. The Christians decided Paganism and anything associated with Paganism was consider works of the Devil. Since Christianity is Anti Pagan tarot cards are associated with Pagans. Christians will often criticize the use of tarot cards and they will often refer to readers of tarot cards as demonic.
Fortunately the majority of tarot card readers do not hold this belief against the Christians since tarot cards are not consider to be part of religion. Tarot cards are considered more of a spirituality and most tarot readers cannot understand what the issue is about the cards. Two cards that often cause some controversy are the Death card and the Devil card. These two cards cause a lot of issues from a religious perspective. Although the true meaning of these cards really have nothing to do with the Devil nor do they have anything to do with Death.
Myth # 2 – Tarot Cards Is A Scam
Some believe that tarot cards are a complete scam. They believe that tarot card readers are con artist and are out to take peoples money. Unfortunately in every line of work such as attorneys, doctors, and contractors just to name a few there are con artists. In every industry there are a fair share of con artist and unfortunately there are also con artist that are tarot card readers. One of the arguments that supports this myth is there are a number of tarot card readers who may say they are psychics or fortune tellers. To an outsider they may not understand what this means since the word psychic can mean various things to different people. A person should ask themselves what does being a psychic actually mean before they decide that the person to make a decision on what they believe.
It is always a judicial choice to approach in person and interact instead of email or telephonic chats to ensure reliability. Online tarot reading is often provided in the non-visible modes, which makes people suspect for the authenticity. Instead, they should seek for virtual video appointments to share their issues in an interactive way.
Myth # 3 – Tarot Cards Are Magic
There are several superstitions about tarot cards that could make a person believe that they are magic. Some people believe that no one should touch their cards. This could be practical if the cards are very expensive or hold sentimental value. The cards could become damaged while another person shuffles the deck or handles the deck. Although some people simply actually believe that the cards can hold another person’s negativity energy. Therefore they do not allow others to touch their cards. In my experience if a tarot card reader has a problem with someone touching their cards it may be due to the fact that they do not know much about tarot cards. They have not spent much time educating themselves on the Tarot.
Myth # 4 – Tarot Cards Readers Are Witches
Truthfully some tarot readers are actually witches. Unfortunately some people will associate witches with Satan. Fortunately this is simply not true since there is actually no association with Tarot cards to any religion. When it comes to tarot card readers some of them are Christians, Jewish, and various other religions. The tarot cards actually have some religious symbolism associated with them. The tarot cards can combine certain aspects of symbolism and images that have religious meanings behind them. The cards will often combine different religious beliefs in an artistic way.
Myth # 5 – You Have To Be Psychic To Read Tarot Cards
This Myth is definitely not true. Tarot cards are easy to understand and with the proper training anyone can read them. Once a person has memorized each card they will be able to understand what each card means. There are some people out there that also believe that everyone is psychic in one form or another. With this being said we would have to reexamine what it actually means to be a psychic. For others tarot cards can be more of a tool that allows a person to feel psychic.
On a final note the more that we understand about Tarot Cards the less we will be concerned with the myths that surround the cards. In the end we will all realize that the cards are not evil nor are they a scam. The tarot cards are not possessed by magic. They are not read only by witches since several different types of people are capable of reading cards. Tarot cards are also not only read by psychics since they are easy to understand with proper training. We will then realize what amazing power the tarot cards have to help everyone solve their everyday problems.
